Yesterday was quite an eventful day and during that eventful day, something truly hilarious happened. I am going to call it an event of epic proportions as I have always only thought it happened in movies or books. Clearly I was mistaken!
It all happened rather quickly but I shall try to get all the details written down and not leave out anything.
I was sitting by my computer in reception, quietly busy minding my own business (whilst keeping a vigilant eye on the people milling and lounging around outside the door) when all of a sudden one of the men standing outside turned around and for seemingly no reason at all just slugged another guy who was just lounging against the wall. Two seconds later all hell broke loose and the two guys were at it with a vengeance. They were pounding away at each other and it was really like the movies because the one guy lost a tooth, there was blood and spit flying around and everyone else was just standing around watching them! And then the most incredible thing happened...I am totally NOT exaggerating this, it really happened.
My Boss came walking up the stairs to the door, head bent, busy tapping furiously on his phone. He was COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS to the fight going on right around him and how the guys didn't manage to land a couple of blows on my Boss, goodness knows! I opened the gate for him and when he got in he looked up and asked us why we were all staring at him (by that time the other employees in the building had also come out to see what the commotion was about). At that we all just burst out laughing and I told him to turn around and take a look. It seemed that the guys outside were themselves stunned that they hadn't hit my Boss and it actually stopped the fight. When my Boss realized what had happened, he just started laughing and flexed his muscles. ~chuckle~ At least I work for a super cool Boss who may or may not be a movie star with the stunt he managed to pull off without even trying!
After all that excitement today seems rather bland :)
